Last Friday we were lucky to have a visit from Matt Wright, Great Food Club. Waterloo Cottage was reviewed by Anna Forgarrd over 5 years ago, but, Matt Wright (founder and editor) has not been to see us. It was interesting to see how much we have moved on since then

Part of Matt’s initial view of us all immediately post visit are below:

‘Hats off to Waterloo Cottage Farm in Great Oxenden near Market Harborough. We visited last week and they are forging their own little piece of Eden! They produce chemical-free, high-welfare meat fed on 40 species of grasses and herbs grown on their own land. There’s a community garden where locals cultivate their own herbs and vegetables, plus a rapidly developing chem-free market garden. There are three yurts where guests can ‘glamp’ the night away. And there’s now a café – Canvas Café – serving organic, chemical-free, locally sourced food.

Chemical-free farming is hard work but what a happy, healthy bunch! Waterloo Cottage Farm is the antidote to industrial-scale food. Do pay them a visit. The food is delicious and the ethos is inspiring. ?

Thank you Matt for such lovely words. When you are knee deep in building and running such a diverse project it is good to look through a fresh pair of eyes.
